- Dr. Niell G. Elvin is the president and founder of ZeroPoint Technology.
- He is responsible for overseeing R&D contracts relating to applications of sensor technology.
- N.G. Elvin is research fellow at Columbia University, Mechanical Engineering, and an adjunct professor in Michigan State University, Civil Engineering.
- His research field is in distributed and networked sensors and intelligent infrastructure.
Relevant Experience
- Dr. Niell Elvin has over 10 years of experience involving sensors.
- Prior to joining ZeroPoint Technology, N.G. Elvin was principal engineer with Mide’ Technology Corp., MA (2002-2004).
He was Principal Investigator for several DOD SBIRs and BAAs -including working on advanced intelligent materials and structures for the Army and Navy.
- Prior to this (1996-2002) he was a founder and president of Elvin R&D LLC, a start-up company dedicated to the development of sensor technology.
- From 1998 to 2000, he was a postdoctoral associate at the Harvard Medical School. His tasks included the design and testing of advances biomedical sensors.
- He has (co)written over 10 papers in the field of sensors and has presented his work in numerous national and international conferences.
- He holds two patents and two more patents are pending.

- Dr. Alex A. Elvin is the vice president and co-founder of ZeroPoint Technology.
- He is responsible for overseeing commercial R&D contracts relating to engineering applications of sensor technology- both from the technical and management sides.
- Dr A. Elvin is a professor at the University of the Witwatersrand (School of Civil and Environmental Engineering).
Relevant Experience
- Dr A. Elvin has more than 10 years of experience involving sensors, and over 10 years experience in software programming and development.
- A.A. Elvin is well versed in analysis (Finite Element modeling) and design.
- Prior to joining ZeroPoint Technology, A.A. Elvin was a co-founder, V.P. and Director of Research of Elvin R&D LLC, a start-up company dedicated to the development of sensor technology. There he was responsible for all aspects of design, testing and prototyping of sensors and electronics.
- From 1998 to 2003, he was a research associate and a teaching staff member (instructor) at the Harvard Medical School. His tasks included the design and mechanical testing of biomedical devices, as well as finite element analysis.
- From 1996-1998 he was senior scientist with IntelliSense Corp., MA, where he was responsible for software development and design of MEMS devices.
- Before this time he worked as a structural engineering for Benard & Associates in South Africa.
- He has (co)written over 20 technical papers and has presented his work in numerous national and international conferences.
- He holds two patents and two more patents are pending.
